Dubai must finalise Expo masterplan by third quarter of 2015

29 January 2014

Expo site will handle up to 300,000 visitors a day

Dubai’s Expo 2020 committee must finalise the masterplan for the exhibition site by the third quarter of 2015, MEED’s Destination Dubai event has been told.

Chris Scott, director, investment and development management, Dubai World Trade Centre, told the MEED event on 29 January that the final masterplan must be submitted to the international Expo committee no later than the third quarter of 2015.

“We are aiming to have it completed and sent before this date, but third quarter of 2015 is the final date that we can submit the completed plans,” said Scott.

The Expo area will cover a total area of 1.5 million square metres, and has been designed to handle 300,000 visitors per day.
