Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa) is planning to develop water reservoirs in Al-Nakhli and Al-Lusaily, which will add about 180 million gallons of water storage capacity in the emirate.
The Al-Nakhli reservoir will have a storage capacity of about 120 million gallons, with the Al-Lusaily reservoir to have the capacity to handle 60 million gallons. The reservoirs will increase Dubai’s storage capacity to about 1 billion gallons of water.
Dewa has appointed a consultant to work on a design for the planned reservoirs, with the utility planning for the project to be operational in 32 months
