Estimated $150m scheme to transport gas 41 kilometres from port to power plant

The UAE’s Dubai Supply Authority (Dusup) has received technical bids for an estimated $150m fuel gas pipeline between Jebel Ali to the Hassyan P power station.

At least five companies submitted proposals for the construction phase of the project.

Bidding contractors included Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) local groups Dodsal and Dutco McConnell Dowell and Indian contractors Punj Lloyd and Larsen & Toubro.

The main contract was expected to be awarded by December, according to a company active on the project.

The scope of the scheme covers a 48-inch, 41-kilometre pipeline from Jebel Ali Free Zone Port to Dubai Electricity & Water Authority’s (Dewa) Hassyan P power plant 60 kilometres southwest of Dubai city and associated works.
