The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has received bids from contractors for more construction work on the upgrade of the Dubai to Al-Ain highway.
The lowest bidder for the contract is Abu Dhabi’s Ghantoot Group with a price of AED768m ($209m), which is about 7 per cent lower than the second-lowest price of AED828m submitted by Turkey’s Mapa Gunal.
The other two bidders are the local DBB Construction, at AED848m, and the local Wade Adams Contracting, at AED928m.
The contract covers phase 1B of the road upgrade. Wade Adams is working on phase 1A.
The consultant is US-based CDM Smith.
