Tebodin awarded design project for Dubai International airport fuel farm by Emirates National Oil Company

The UAE’s state-owned Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) is planning to expand its joint industry fuel farm (JIFF) at Dubai International airport, according to sources familiar with the project.

Enoc has appointed Netherlands-based Tebodin to carry out the front-end engineering and design (feed) phase of the project and has begun prequalifying contractors for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC).

EPC companies that have already been prequalified include Dubai-based Albanna Engineering and India’s Tata Projects. The EPC contract is likely to be tendered in the third quarter of 2014.

Enoc’s phase-three expansion of the JIFF at Dubai International will serve the jet fuel needs for various airlines and other general aviators, and will include two storage tanks and associated facilities.

The JIFF is one of several new projects being undertaken by Enoc. The company is planning to carry out the second phase of its Falcon jet fuel pipeline and storage terminal as construction of the first phase approaches completion.

The company is also planning to expand its condensate refinery at Jebel Ali. Enoc announced in 2012 that it plans to increase the capacity of the refinery by 20,000 barrels a day (b/d), to 140,000 b/d, through a process of debottlenecking to improve oil flow.
