Dubai transport authority awards two contracts

The Roads & Transport Authority has awarded two major road contracts in Dubai to South Korea’s Sungwon Corporation and the local Emirates Road Contracting (ERC).

The value of Sungwon’s contract is AED1.7bn ($463m). It covers phase 2a of the parallel roads scheme, which involves the construction of roads, intersections, bridges and underpasses through the Business Bay development and the Dubai creek extension. The other bidders were Salini Costruttori at AED1.98bn, and ERC at AED2.01bn.

ERC has been awarded the AED699m contract to build the entries and exits serving the carparks at Rashidiya metro station. The other bidders were Salini at AED731m and China State at AED760m.

Parsons is the consultant for both projects (MEED 30:5:08).
