Electricity and water authority plans to build apartments in Jebel Ali
Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa) has invited companies to bid by 24 February for a contract to build residential accommodation in the Jebel Ali area.
The contract involves the construction of four buildings at Jebel Ali power station. Each building will have three levels of parking and 17 floors of apartments. The total built-up area is about 150,000 square metres.
The contract has been tendered before. In May, Dewa received bids from four companies for the contract, but later decided to cancel the tender (MEED 6:5:09).
The low bidder at the time was the local Mammut Construction Group with a price of AED539m ($146m). The other bidders were Abu Dhabi-based Dhabi Contracting at AED554m, the local Al-Shafar Transport Company, and China’s Sinohydro at AED780m.
The consultant is the local Al-Turath Consultants.
