Egypt inflation little changed in June

11 July 2010

According to Egypt's Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics, the country's inflation was little changed in June after easing for four months in a row, Bloomberg has reported. Urban inflation, the main rate monitored by the central bank, was 10.7% compared with 10.5% in May. The central bank cut interest rates six times in 2009 to support economic growth in the most populous Arab country. The economy expanded 5.8% in the first three months of 2010 compared with 5% in the previous quarter.
