OmanEleven groups have applied to prequalify for the contract to install a 10,000-barrel-a-day isomerisation unit at the Mina al-Fahal refinery. They are understood to include Galfar Engineering & Contracting and Al-Hassan Engineering, both local; Italy’s Tecnimont; Egypt’s EnppiEngineering; Russia’s Technopromexport; LG Engineering &Constructionand SK Engineering, both of South Korea; India’s Larsen & Toubro; and Athens-based Consolidated Contractors International Company (CCC).
In addition to installing the main unit, the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract calls for the installation of new condensate, export and storage facilities and associated utilities. Oman Refinery Companyis the client; the US’ Granherne & Companyhas completed the front-end engineering and design (FEED) package (MEED 30:5:03).
