“The new opening date for The Dubai Mall, one of the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destinations, is November 4,” said Emaar in a statement on 29 October.
Dubai Mall was due to open on 30 October, but Emaar says a delay was needed to put the final touches to the development.
“The new date further allows us to address the finishing aspects of the mall infrastructure,” it said in the statement.
Dubai Mall is one of the largest building projects in Dubai.
Construction work began in 2005 and it has been subject to a number of lengthy delays as the client made changes to the design.
A joint venture of the local Dutco Balfour Beatty and Athens-based Consolidated Contractors International Company is the contractor (MEED 15:8:08).
