Fountain Views project is latest scheme to be tendered at the Downtown Dubai district

Dubai developer Emaar Properties has received bids from companies for the contract to build its Address Residence Fountain Views development at its Downtown Dubai district.

The bidders are understood to include:

The main construction package involves building three towers, including a 220-metre-tall, 60-storey, 280-unit luxury residential tower looking out to Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and The Dubai Fountain.

In November, Emaar awarded Brookfield Multiplex the contract to complete the raft foundations of the new real estate development.

Emaar is moving forward with several major projects in the Downtown Dubai district. In November, it awarded CCC the estimated AED700m ($191m) contract to build the Dubai Modern Art Museum and Opera House District.

The 2,000-seat venue will be built in Emaar’s Downtown Dubai development. In addition to the opera house, the local develop plans to build new hotels, studios and leisure facilities in the area. The consultant is the UK-based Atkins.

Emaar has also received bids from contractors for the contract to build an extension to its Dubai Mall.

The work involves building a fashion avenue next to the existing mall, the lake, Burj Khalifa and the existing Address hotel, offering 75,000 square metres of retail space and about 25,000 sq m of parking.

The bidders include the local Al-Futtaim Carillion, Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), and the local/UK Dutco Balfour Beatty.

At the beginning of this year, Emaar awarded Brookfield Multiplex the contract to build the Address The BLVD hotel and residential tower.

Located adjacent to Burj Khalifa, the 63-storey tower will contain 200 five-star hotel rooms and 542 serviced apartments. The 340-metre tower will house studios and apartments with up to four bedrooms. The project will be funded by offplan sales. The tower was designed by UK-based architecture firm Atkins.
