Dubai-based Emirates Airlines marks 25 years in operation today, with the carrier’s inaugural flight, the EK600 from Dubai International to Karachi, taking off on October 25 1985. Since then the Middle East’s largest carrier has set a number of records, including becoming the first regional airline to operate a non-stop North America route, the largest customer and operator of the Boeing 777-300 wide-body plane, and currently holding an order book for 90 A380 super jumbos.
