Canadian contractor to build gas processing facility at Block 60
Oman Oil Company Exploration and Production (OOCEP) has awarded Canada’s Enerflex a $228m contract to build a gas processing plant in the sultanate.
Enerflex will carry out the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning for the facility at licensing Block 60, which is located at Abu Tubul.
The scope of works includes the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of gas processing and compression equipment, gas and condensate export facilities, produced water treatment, power plant, central control room, electrical substation and associated utilities.
Engineering work is under way and completion is due for the third quarter of 2013. On completion, the plant will produce 90 million standard cubic feet of gas a day as well as 6,000 barrels a day of condensate.
