Codeshare agreement to strengthen UAE-South Korea ties

Abu Dhabi-based airline Etihad Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with South Korea’s Korean Air.

The partnership will come into effect from 22 July, pending final regulatory sign-off.

The terms of the agreement will see Korean Air place its KE code on Etihad Airways’ daily flights between Seoul and Abu Dhabi.

Trade between the UAE and South Korea is growing and this partnership is expected to strengthen business and leisure travel between the two countries.

UAE-South Korean trade was valued at $20bn in 2012, while South Korean investment in infrastructure and other UAE projects is valued at approximately $29bn since 2009.
