Etihad and Qantas ink new deal

20 April 2009

Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways has forged a new deal with Qantas under which the Australian-based carrier will use Jetstar aircraft to take Etihad passengers to Australia's top holiday destinations. From Wednesday, Etihad passengers will be able to fly to Australia and not have to book tickets or carry their baggage between air terminals before boarding Jetstar flights to destinations not serviced by Qantas domestic flights. The new deal comes four weeks after Qantas and Etihad signed an arrangement where both carriers agreed to share passengers between Australia and Etihad's operational base at Abu Dhabi.
