Route to strengthen trade ties with Africa
Etihad Cargo, a division of the Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways, is re-introducing a weekly freighter service from the emirate to the Nigerian city of Lagos. The service will be launched on 15 November.
In addition, 16 new onward interline freight destinations from Lagos will be launched covering the African cities in Gabon, Congo-Brazzaville, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Mauritania, Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Port Harcourt in Nigeria and Democratic Republic of Congo.
The new cargo route is expected to cement the growing trade ties between the UAE and West Africa.
Etihad Airways already operates six weekly Airbus 320 passenger services between Abu Dhabi and Lagos.
