Siraj Power is evaluating prequalification entries for a planned 500MW solar project.
The client is a joint venture (JV) of utility provider Qatar Electricity & Water Company (QEWC) and state oil company Qatar Petroleum (QP). According to sources close to the project, the JV received proposals from developers on 24 June.
The 500MW photovoltaic (PV) solar plant will require total investment of $650m. The successful bidder will own 40 per cent of the asset, with the government holding the remaining 60 per cent stake.
The project is planned to be located in the Al-Kharsaa area.
