EXCLUSIVE: Contractors prepare to submit proposals for Aramco scheme

14 August 2018
Aramco’s agreements with existing firms that provide offshore hook-up and commissioning services expire in August

Saudi Aramco has set 29 August as the deadline for offshore services firms to submit bids for the renewal and expansion of its pool of contractors with which it has long-term agreements (LTA) for the provision of hook-up and commissioning services.

MEED has previously reported that Aramco is looking to expand its secondary pool of offshore contractors that perform specialised hook-up and commissioning jobs (that don't exceed $100m in value), along with that main LTA pool - according to a source close to the programme.

Aramco has operated this smaller pool for a number of years, but LTAs with the existing firms expire in August. This has prompted the oil company to renew the contracts as well as add more companies to the list.

Aramco issued the invitation to bid to companies on 21 March.

Local Saudi companies Al-Shoaibi Group and Zamil Offhsore are understood to be two of the existing hook-up and commissioning firms in this LTA group.

The two companies are expected to bid for renewal of their LTAs, as per the source. Malaysia-based offshore company Sapura Energy is also among the bidders.
