The local Tristar submits lowest office with a price of AED493m ($134m)

Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has received bids from contractors for the upgrade of Khawaneej Road alongside Mushrif Park.

Locally-based Tristar submitted the lowest bid with a price of AED493m ($134m), which is about 15 per cent lower than the AED577m submitted by another local firm, Wade Adams Contracting.  The other bidder is the local DBB Contracting at AED582m.

The works are understood to involve the widening of the highway, as well as the construction of new access ramps and flyovers.

The consultant is the local office of KEO International Consultants.

There is another major road project underway in the area. In 2017, the RTA awarded India’s Larsen & Toubro (L&T) an estimated AED500m ($136m) contract to upgrade Tripoli Road in Mirdif.

The road provides a link between Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road.

The first part of the project is the widening of Tripoli Road over a 6.5 kilometre stretch from the intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road next to Mirdif City Centre up to Academic City Road. The second part of the project is the construction of a new 5.3 km highway with three lanes in each direction, from the intersection of the Academic City up to the Emirates Road.
