Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) and Spanish oil and gas firm Cepsa have selected Spain's Tecnicas Reunidas for the contract to execute the front-end engineering and design (feed) works on their planned linear alkylbenzene (LAB) project.
The feed contract is estimated to be worth about $8m, according to an industry source.
Adnoc and Cepsa, which is owned by Abu Dhabi investment vehicle Mubadala, plan to build the estimated $600m LAB plant within the Ruwais downstream megacomplex.
MEED had previously reported that the following engineering firms had been invited to bid for the feed:
- Tecnicas Reunidas (Spain)
- WorleyParsons (Australia)
- Samsung Engineering (South Korea)
- GS Engineering & Construction (South Korea)
- Bechtel (US)
- Wood Group (UK)
Commercial bids for the feed tender were due to be submitted in September.
