Canada-headquartered Fairmont Hotels and Resorts has unveiled plans to add 14 hotels in the Middle East by 2014, with a focus on Saudi Arabia, Reuters has reported. "By next year we will have (announced) four or five hotels in Saudi Arabia," said Mohammed Al Arkobi, vice president and general manager of the Makkah Clock Royal Tower. The 14 planned hotels will be all under the Fairmont brand, he said. The company has four new hotels planned for the UAE, at varying stages of development, with two in Abu Dhabi. It is also considering projects in Cairo and Morocco.
