Faisal al-Ostad

Biography: Faisal al-Ostad is the acting director of the consulting department at Kuwait’s Public Works Ministry. In 1997, Al-Ostad graduated with a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in the US. Al-Ostad then joined the Public Works Ministry in the design department of the construction projects administration.

In 2000, he joined the consultants department as a project engineer and architect in the special projects administration. In 2007, he was promoted to team leader of the consultants department. Al-Ostad took up his current position in 2009.

The Public Works Ministry is planning to build eight new hospitals in Kuwait by 2016. The largest hospital project currently under construction is the $1.1bn Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmed al-Sabah Hospital, which is located in the Surra district in Kuwait City.
