Firm reaches financial close for two Emirates aircraft

Carrier recently placed an order for 40 new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners

Dubai-based Novus Aviation Capital has closed the purchase and leaseback for two brand-new Boeing B777-300ERs with Emirates Airline.

The B777-300ER has a list price of $261m.

According to Novus, the two aircraft were delivered to Emirates in August and November 2017, respectively, and will be on long-term leases.

The new planes feature Emirates’ new first class suite, which the firm’s president Tim Clark launched during the Dubai Airshow held on 12-16 November.

MEED understands the two aircraft supplement Novus’ existing B777 and A380 portfolio of financed and leased aircraft to Emirates.

Emirates placed an order for 40 B787-10 Dreamliner aircraft worth an estimated $15.1bn at the recent Dubai Airshow.

The airline’s deal with France’s Airbus for more A380 aircraft has stalled.
