Five major hotel projects in Abu Dhabi will make construction awards in the coming months, reported MEED. The hotels, which will have more than 1,700 rooms in total, are the Fairmont and Eastern Mangrove on Abu Dhabi island, the Al-Gurm development in the west of the emirate, and the St Regis resort and Hyatt hotel on Saadiyat island. The new projects will take the emirate a step closer to reaching its target of having 25,000 hotel rooms by 2012, up from 12,000 today.
