15 May 2008
Four firms have so far purchased tender documents for the contract to build a new hotel development in Duqm in Oman.

India's Larsen & Toubro, Turkey's Eren Port Insaat and Carillion Alawi and Galfar Engineering & Contracting, both local, have all bought the documents.

The closing date for bids is 7 July. KEO International is the consultant on the project, which is estimated to be worth up to $100m.

The client is the Oman Tourism Development Company.

Duqm Beach Hotel will be a 200-room hotel featuring self-catering chalets, a conference room, meeting rooms, business centre and recreational facilities in the Duqm area. It is being built in anticipation of the proposed new industrial port and other future developments.
