Four groups prequalify for Kuwait air traffic tower contract

07 July 2008
Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has prequalified four international groups to bid for a contract at Kuwait International Airport.

The US groups Raytheon and ITT Corporation, Italy’s Selex and Thales from France will be able to bid for work designing and installing an air traffic control tower and systems at the new airport.

The winning bidder will also be expected to provide training and maintenance on the systems.

The DGCA will hold a pre-tender meeting with the four companies on 20 July to discuss the work. The bid deadline is 17 August.

The DGCA recently invited contractors to prequalify for a construction package at the airport (MEED 2:7:08).
