France’s Veolia has been awarded a contract by Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) to build and install water and wastewater treatment plants to serve major power plants.
The French firm will construct the water and wastewater plants for the Assiut Supercritical and Cairo West power plants.
The Assiut and Cairo West plants are currently being expanded. In December 2016, South Korea’s Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction was awarded a $137m contract to provide turbines and generators for the two power plants. Earlier in 2016, Orascom was awarded a contract to convert the Assiut plant to a combined-cycle plant.
