Bid deadline for PDO’s Zauliyah gas processing project pushed back for second time in April
Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has delayed the bid deadline for the main contract on the Zauliyah gas plant project to 12 May, according to a source close to the bidding process.
The state-owned company pushed back the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) bid deadline from 24 April. PDO was previously asking for bids by 5 April.
There are at least eight prequalified bidders for the estimated $200m contract, which will include the construction of a gas processing plant in west-central Oman to purify raw gas from underground fields. No reason was given for the delays.
PDO released the tender for the Zauliyah gas plant project in late October 2012 after awarding Australia’s WorleyParsons to carry out the front-end engineering and design (feed).
