Qatargas has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state-owned Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to explore joint opportunities in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) business.
The parties would "jointly identify and evaluate best practices in the LNG industry, particularly in the sharing of knowledge and expertise in procurement of LNG, transportation of LNG, and floating storage and regasification units (FSRU)," Qatargas said in a statement.
The MoU also includes the possibility of supplying LNG to Thailand, Qatargas said.
EGAT is reported to be in negotiations with multiple suppliers for LNG deliveries starting from 2023.
