Firms prepare price proposals for deal to build 100km plus pipeline in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Company (Gasco) has set the deadline for bids on a $100m-plus project to replace a 100-kilometre-long stretch of pipelines.
The company has asked firms to submit commercial bids outlining proposed cost structures for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) deal by 27 September.
The winner of the contract will build a pipeline to replace the existing system for moving ‘lean’, or methane and ethane-rich gas, from the Thamma C production facilities in the northeast of the emirate to the Asab facilities in the southwest.
The winning bidder will build a 36-inch 100km pipeline, and decommission the existing one.
Contractors value the project at $100-150m.
Among the main contenders for the deal are Lebanon’s Contracting & Trading (Cat), the US’ Willbros, Paris-based Technip, India’s Larsen & Toubro, Abu Dhabi’s National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), Punj Lloyd, also of India, and the UAE’s Dodsal.
The firms submitted technical bids detailing the engineering work they would carry out on 4 August.
