GE Energy awarded contracts worth $500m

The US’ GE Energy has signed contracts totalling $500m for industrial projects in Saudi Arabia.

The contracts, for the local Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) covers the supply of gas turbines and generators for a number of facilities in the kingdom.

It will supply gas turbine-generators for the expansion of the Rabigh Power Plant in Rabigh city in the west of Saudi Arabia, which is being constructed by the local National Contracting Company.

GE Energy will also supply gas turbines at four further power plants owned by SEC. Two plants, located in Jizan in southern Saudi Arabia, and Qunfutha City in the west, are being constructed by the local Al-Toukhi Company for Industry and Trading.

And two further plants will be located in Aljouf in the north and Tabouk in the northwest. National Contracting Company is the contractor.
