US group to supply technology for Umm al-Lulu full-field development
US-based GE Oil & Gas has won a contract to supply gas turbine technology for the development of the offshore Umm al-Lulu field in Abu Dhabi.
The contract was awarded by the local engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) and Frances Technip, which are carrying out the development for Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (Adma-Opco).
GEs contract comprises gas turbine generator sets, gas lift compressors and gas injection compressors.
NPCC and Technip started work on the 100,000 barrel-a-day (b/d) full-field development in 2013.
