GE to build thermal power plant at Samra

The US' General Electric (GE) has been awarded the contract to design, build and supply a gas-fired 95-140-MW single-cycle power plant at Samra. The scope of works involves land development, roads, drainage, design of plant buildings, supply, delivery, erection, testing, commissioning and putting into commercial operation the single-cycle plant. The plant will consist of one gas turbine, with an optional identical second turbine. The client is Samra Electric Power Generating Company (MEED 7:4:06).
