US giant GE has signed a deal with Saudi Cement to upgrade three turbines at the cement manufacturer's Hofuf power plant to boost output and efficiency at the facility.
The upgrade will boost the output of the Hofuf power plant and also reduce the power that Saudi Cement draws from the grid, freeing up power for rising residential and industrial demand in the kingdom.
The upgrade of the three turbines is expected to increase the plant's power output by up to 16.9 per cent.
