The scope of work on the contract, which will be carried out over a six-nine month period, covers an unmanned platform with an option for a second platform two subsea wells, an in-field pipeline and a 60-kilometre-long gas export line

from the new production facilities to the onshore processing plant at Mediah.

It also entails modifications to an existing platform at north Abu Qir and the Mediah gas processing unit.

The other bidders were Australia’s WorleyParsons with Houston-based Intec Engineering, and the US’ Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR). Aberdeen-based Avanteq carried out a conceptual study for development of the gas field.
