Bahrain's national carrier Gulf Air will begin flying to the Kurdish region of Iraq from the end of October. It will fly between the kingdom's capital Manama and Arbil in Iraqi Kurdistan, although a schedule has yet to be announced. Tahir al-Horami, director of Arbil International Airport, said that the route was the start an important channel links the Kurdish region to the rest of the world.
