Gulf carriers well suited to face 'challenging times'

Airlines are facing the most challenging period in their history, said Peter Harbison, Executive Chairman of the Centre for Asia Pacifica Aviation. Speaking at the Low Cost Airlines World 2008 Conference, Harbison pointed out that only a few months ago, airlines were struggling to determine how they were going to cope with fuel prices that were over $140 a barrel. Now they are faced with one of the worst financial crises in history.
