Gulf Consult wins Kuwaiti road contract

Local firm Gulf Consult has won the contract to provide consultancy services for a road system in Ahmadi.

The project is for a dual carriageway on the north side of Ahmadi, connecting to motorway route 40, which will be six kilometres long. Smaller elements of bypass work on the south side of the town are also included.

Tenders are due to be issued to contractors towards the end of the year. Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is the client.

Gulf Consult had submitted the second lowest bid on the project. Other bidders were Pan Arab Consulting Engineers, KEO International Consultants, Dar Al-Dowailah and Industrial & Engineering Consulting, which was the low bidder.

KOC is also considering bids for consultancy services for the design of the improvement and widening of Magwa road and the Burgan link. Pan Arab Consulting Engineering is the lowest bidder, Gulf Consult is the second lowest. Two other consultancies also bid.
