Contract entails construction of new homes
Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has awarded a KD18.8m ($66m) contract to local Gulf Dredging & General Contracting Company for the construction of new houses in South Ahmadi. KOC plans to undertake the redevelopment of the Ahmadi oil township, located about 40 kilometres south of Kuwait City. The project entails the complete privatisation of the township, which has been run by KOC for more than 50 years.
In early September, KOC floated a new tender for work in Magwa in the Ahmadi Governorate. The estimated $30m contract calls for the construction of an office complex and associated facilities. The deadline for submitting bids for the project is 12 November.
