Adel al-Mangour named new head

Bahrain-based Gulf International Bank (GIB), has appointed Adel al-Mangour as its managing director of merchant banking.

The appointment was announced on on 21 June.

Al-Mangour joins GIB from Saudi Arabia’s Arab National Bank, where he held a number of senior positions from 2001-2010, including that of chief credit officer. Prior to this, he worked as vice president of corporate finance at JP Morgan Chase in Bahrain for two years.

“Adel has extensive experience in project and structured finance, corporate banking and risk management,” said Yahya Alyahya, GIB’s chief executive officer.

“His appointment comes as part of the bank’s efforts to further improve and expand our financial services and build stronger relationships with our clients.”
