The total value of projects planned or under way in the region grew by $2.9bn in the first week of December, according to Gulf projects tracker MEED Projects.

The increase was driven mainly by the Qatari and Iranian markets, which recorded growth rates of 1.8 per cent and 1.4 per cent respectively.

The projects market has grown by 40.4 per cent from $1.2bn the previous year.
