The MEED Projects index of schemes planned or under way in the Gulf has recorded its biggest weekly increase of 2008, rising by 2.6 per cent to $1.86 trillion in the week ending 4 February.
For the second week, Iran registered the highest growth, with the total value of projects in the Islamic Republic rising by 4.1 per cent.
Activity also increased in Oman, Qatar and the UAE, but declined in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Year on year, the MEED Projects index is up by 37 per cent.
