Gulf projects 7 April 2008

The MEED Projects index edged up in the first week of April, with the total value of schemes planned or under way in the Gulf rising by 0.5 per cent to $2.05 trillion.

The biggest increases were recorded in Kuwait and the UAE, where the portfolio of projects increased by 1.1 per cent and 0.9 per cent respectively. In contrast, Bahrain registered its second week of contraction and was joined by Oman and Saudi Arabia in experiencing declines in their project portfolios.
