The US’ Honeywell has won a major contract to supply planning and scheduling software to the Rabigh Refining & Petrochemicals Company (Petro-Rabigh).
The software will be used to improve reliability, efficiency and overall business performance at Petro-Rabigh's integrated refinery and petrochemicals complex on the Red Sea coast.
The $10bn complex, developed by a joint venture of Saudi Aramco and Japan’s Sumitomo Chemical Company, is one of the largest petrochemical complexes ever built and the software contract is one of the largest of its type awarded in the sector.
The region’s petrochemical complexes are increasingly turning to advanced software as they seek to maximise their production efficiency.
