Description: ERAOA is a landmark road infrastructure project undertaken by the Arriyadh Development Authority primarily to mitigate Riyadh’s unprecedented levels of traffic congestion and the effects of flash flooding during times of heavy rain. At the time, the scope of the work made it one of the largest projects ever undertaken in the capital. It combined new and innovative engineering and design techniques to achieve important project objectives, such as economic and social benefits for the local community, and environmental construction best practices. It set a precedent of success and high standards for all future road infrastructure works in Riyadh.
