The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has said that demand for business and executive seats, the main driver of profitability for most airlines, had dropped in September despite an increase in overall passenger numbers, Reuters has reported. Business class demand was relatively stronger in much of Asia (excluding Japan) where economic growth is getting back on track, the international body said. Air passengers bought 1.2% more tickets in September than the same month period a year ago, but premium travel numbers dropped 13.9%, IATA said.
