Ibn Zahr polypropylene plans get into gear

12 May 2006
Revised prices are due to be submitted on 15 May for the Saudi European Petrochemical Company (Ibn Zahr) polypropylene (PP) plant contract at Jubail, following the submission of commercial bids in late April.
Just two international contractors Germany's Linde and South Korea's Samsung Engineering Company are understood to have priced the work, which covers the construction of a 500,000-tonne-a-year PP facility.

An award is pending on the associated offsites and utilities package at the complex after companies submitted technical and commercial offers in mid-April (MEED 17:3:06). Oslo-based Aker Kvaerner is the project management consultant on the scheme (MEED 7:4:06).
