Qatar banks fail to agree terms for merger
Qatar’s International Bank of Qatar and Al-Khaliji Commercial Bank have called off merger talks after failing to agree final terms on the deal.
The two banks had announced the merger in May 2010. In December the talks were entering the final stages and due diligence had started.
In a joint statement issued on 5 June, the banks said they had “decided to end negotiations for the proposed combination of businesses after final terms could not be agreed”.
