IDF kills two on Lebanese border

09 December 2003
The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) on 9 December said it had killed two armed men who had crossed the border from Lebanon into northern Israel. The incident took place near the village of Ghajar, which sits on the UN delineated line in the occupied Golan Heights. Reports of how the men managed to cross the border are unclear.

Earlier on 9 December Hezbollah members in southern Lebanon fired anti-aircraft weapons at two Israeli jets that invaded Lebanese airspace. Neither of the planes was hit in the incident and they did not return fire.
