CKG Libya Branch, a consortium of Citramegah Karya Gemilang (CKG)and Inti Karya Persada Tehnik (IKPT), both of Indonesia, has received a letter of intent, valued at LD 58.3 million ($44.8 million), to carry out the secondary conveyance and agricultural storage tanks package on the coastal agricultural areas programme.

The award, made by the Great Manmade River Water Utilisation Authority (GMRWUA), centres on the detailed design, supply and construction of five 86,000-cubic-metre reinforced concrete storage tanks at a location about 40 kilometres south of Tripoli.

CKG beat off competition from three other contractors to take the 28-month contract. They were Athens-based Joannou & Paraskevaides (Overseas), Turkey's Gamaand Bosnia's Hidrogradnja.

In addition to the tanks, CKG will supply and install five turn-out head works, pipes and fittings, as well as carry out external works, including roads, drainage and fencing.
